About Us

In 1975, a small group of citizens established The Community Foundation of South Alabama to improve the quality of life for everyone in the community.

Since its inception, the Community Foundation has grown to over 450 funds and awarded over $79 million in grants and scholarships throughout the eight counties of southwest Alabama, improving the lives of many residents in our corner of the world.

We amplify the gifts from generous donors through wise investment, support others in efforts to enhance our community, and lead and collaborate on initiatives which have a broad impact.

Our Commitment

We are committed to acting with integrity with all of our partners, and to being equitable, inclusive and transparent in everything we do.  We are passionate about developing long-term relationships based on mutual respect and trust in order to create measurable impact in our communities.  We are committed to helping southwest Alabama become a more prosperous community where all of its residents enjoy a great quality of life.
