THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF SOUTH ALABAMA AWARDS OVER $270,000 TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WORKING TOWARD CLOSING THE OPPORTUNITY GAP IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA

The Community Foundation of South Alabama (CFSA) is pleased to announce it has awarded $274,300 to 22 nonprofit organizations across its eight-county footprint in Southwest Alabama. These funds will support programs that are committed to narrowing the opportunity gap present among our local youth.

In a greater effort to aid youth in CFSA’s eight-county footprint, the primary focus areas of grant funding were expanded to include programs that address Racial Equity and Arts and Culture. Other focus areas include Family, Education and Work.  

The 2021 Closing the Opportunity Gap grantees include Explore Center, Inc., Sav-A-Life Mobile, Inc., The Maynard 4 Foundation, Mobile Area Council Boy Scouts of America, Dance Without Limits Foundation, Dwell Mobile, Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama, Inc., Coastal Family Partners, Education 4 Life, Inc., The Atmore Area Christian Care Ministry, Dumas Wesley Community Center, Exchange Club For the Prevention of Child Abuse Mobile, Inc., Azalea City Center for the Arts, Mobile Arts Council, Goodwill Industries of the Gulf Coast, Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center, Mobile County Health Department, Mobile Ballet, Impact Alabama, Alabama Arise, Mobile Symphony, McIntosh Elementary School.
