The Community Foundation of South Alabama (CFSA) is pleased to announce it has awarded $304,250 to 15 nonprofit organizations across its eight-county footprint in Southwest Alabama. These funds will support programs that provide resources and basic needs to those in Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington counties effected by COVID-19.

In a greater effort to aid the CFSA’s eight-county footprint that has been affected by COVID-19, the Foundation opened a competitive grant cycle in May 2020.

The COVID-19 Response and Relief grantees include Children’s Aid Society of Alabama, Boys & Girls Ranches of Alabama, Christian Services Center, Ransom Ministries, University of South Alabama, Light of the Village, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama Inc., Feeding the Gulf Coast, Monroe County Health Care Authority/Monroe Health Foundation, Prodisee Pantry, MOWA Choctaw Housing Authority, Bishop State Community College Foundation, Wilmer Hall, Baldwin Family Violence Shelter (DBA The Lighthouse), Family Counseling Center of Mobile, Inc. (DBA Lifelines Counseling Services).

“These are still uncertain times for our nation and our local communities, and we remain mindful of the affects COVID-19 is having on our eight-county region,” said Community Foundation of South Alabama President & CEO Rebecca Byrne. “The COVID-19 Response and Relief Fund addresses all aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Southwest Alabama with the same vigor and precision as other competitive grant cycles that the Foundation hosts.”
