Fairhope, AL. July 28, 2022 --- The Advisory Committee of the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation is pleased to announce it has awarded $22,000 to seven organizations in its fourth competitive grant cycle. These funds will address the needs of the Fairhope/Point Clear community in efforts to improve the quality of life of its residents.

The 2022 grantees include Prodisee Pantry, Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation, Camp Rap-A-Hope Foundation, Liberty Learning Foundation, Mobile Baykeeper, Alabama Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Baldwin Family Village Foundation.

“The Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation continuously supports local organizations that are committed to improving the quality of life for local residents,” said The Community Foundation of South Alabama President & CEO, Rebecca Byrne. “We’re looking forward to seeing the positive impact these organizations will produce in our community.”

The Fairhope/Point Clear Community Foundation was established in January 2018 to make a lasting impact on the Fairhope/Point Clear community. The Foundation established the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Fund as a vehicle to receive donations and bequests to benefit the community. In addition to the Fairhope/Point Clear Community Fund from which the advisory committee administers the Foundation’s competitive grant process, several donor advised funds have also been established under the Foundation.

The committee overseeing the foundation consists of George Spottswood, Mac Walcott, Maggie Bagwell Lacey, Jeanna Pilot, Beth Craft, Wesley Carpenter, Andolyn Fitzgerald, Johnny Lyle, Lucy McVay, Scott Shamburger, and Ashley Bonner. Together, they determine what areas to focus on within the Fairhope/Point Clear Communities. Through concerted grantmaking, the Foundation gives these local leaders an opportunity to make a difference in Fairhope/Point Clear.
